Horse Culatta 6 Pocket Bifold Wallet
This refined take on the classic six-pocket bifold wallet is entirely handcrafted from butter-soft 3mm vegetable-tanned horse culatta leather, featuring a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and finished in a deep matte black “rotten corpse” object dye.
Culatta is a rare leather cut that combines the rear just above the cordovan with belly centers and hind shanks, offering a dense, tight-grained structure with a medium to firm temper — ideal for pieces that demand both structure and tactility.
Vegetable tanning is a centuries-old artisanal process that relies on a delicate balance of time and temperature. Natural tannins, like those from tree bark, slowly infuse the leather, giving it rich color depth, durability, and a unique character that matures beautifully over time.
The wallet is made entirely by hand, without the use of machines, and features a traditional bifold structure. Inside, a large note compartment and multiple card slots are lined with supple kudu leather. The edges are hand-sewn using 0.65mm hand-waxed Japanese linen thread, finished with an overlock stitch for durability and detail.
Each piece is delivered in a handmade leather pouch.
